I love to travel and I love to write. I worked this out pretty early in life and have been sharing my stories (ie: ear-bashing) with anyone willing to listen ever since.
Heading off alone at age 24 I discovered that travelling was even better than reading and dreaming about it, although I still continue to do both as well.
I am a trained journalist however I've never worked in travel journalism, apart from a brief spell volunteering at a newspaper in Bolivia (but that's another story!)
And so, travel-mad.com, is my way of keeping the stories of travel alive long after we have returned to 'normal' life and it's also my way of trying to encourage every other woman out there to throw on a backpack or grab a suitcase and head out into the world.
